Crochet Boot Cuffs- Free Pattern!

Materials:

I-9 crochet hook

Medium, worsted weight yarn (145 yds/133m)

(Pictured: Oatmeal by Vanna’s Choice/Lion Brand Yarn)

Yarn needle

2 or 3 buttons of your choice (optional)

Stitches Used:

Single Crochet (insert hook from front to back, yo, draw up a loop, yo, pull through both loops on hook)

Double Crochet (yo, insert hook from front to back, yo, draw up a loop, yo, pull through first 2 loops on hook, yo, pull through both loops on hook)

Single Crochet Two Stitches Together (insert hook from front to back, yo, draw up a loop, insert hook in next stitch from front to back, yo, draw up a loop, yo, pull through all 3 loops on hook)

Abbreviations:

Single Crochet (sc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Single Crochet Two Stitches Together (sc2tog)

Slip stitch (sl st)

Chain (ch)

Stitch (st)

Finished Size: 4” tall, width depends on the circumference of leg

Pattern:

Working in rows. Make 2:

(Rows marked with * are worked in back loops only)

Ch 11.

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across. Ch 1. (10 sc)

Row 2*: sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (10 sc)[repeat row 2, 45 times so you will have a total of 46 rows]

Using 10 sl st across, seam the two ends to form a circle being careful not to twist

Ch 1, turn your work 90° clockwise.

[If the cuff does not fit perfectly around your leg you can add more rows of sc until it fits comfortably]

Round 1: sc 46 times around the edge of the cuff. Join with a sl st in the ch 1 space. Ch 1.

[If you added more rows of sc, make sure you sc that many times around the edge of the cuff. For example, if you sc 50 rows you would sc 50 times around the cuff]

Round 2: sc in each st across. Join with a sl st. Ch 2. (46 sc)

Round 3: dc in each st across. Join with a sl st. Ch 1. (46 dc)

Rounds 4 and 6: Repeat round 2

Rounds 5 and 7: Repeat round 3.

Round 8: *sc2tog over the next two stitches, sc in the next 4. Repeat from * around. (38 sc)

Join with a sl st. Fasten off.

Finish: Tuck in ends with yarn needle and add 2 or 3 buttons of your choice to the outside of each cuff.
